Database of network facilities in the National Register of Buildings

Database of network facilities in the National Register of Buildings

The building register (Ehitisregister, EHR) has been created and developed on the basis of building-specific indicators, and the objects in its database are suitable for describing buildings and building-like structures (substations, basements, attics, etc.), but are not sufficient to describe network facilities specific data. Today’s EHR does not allow network facilities data to be stored in machine-readable form. Network facilities data is saved together with other construction documentation in pdf files. In the course of the project, a database of network facilities was developed together with services that create opportunities for capturing and storing network facility data in the EHR in three dimensions. Opportunities were also created for the re-use of collected data and digital data exchange in a form suitable for modern construction methods.
